Moved by John Early that the first special meeting of the society be held on Saturday Jan^y 27^th at Six O’Clock P.M.

Pursuant to adjournment the society met On Saturday Jan^y 26^th the president in the chair. Upon the meeting being called to order by the president. Mr. Perrin Rathbun and Mr. Owen Daley asked admission as members of this society. A vote being taken they were admitted to membership.

The Resolution was then discussed resolved that the pioneer has conferred greater benefits on mankind than the statesman.

After an animated discussion the question was decided in favor of the affirmative.

On motion the following Resolution was selected for discussion at the next meeting.

Resolved that the external productions of the earth are of more benefit to mankind than its internal productions.
