After an animated discussion the question was decided in favor of the affirmative.

On Motion it was Resolved that the following question. Are the pleasures of hope superior to those of memory, be the subject for discussion at the next meeting. Those Chosen were as follows.

On Motion the meeting adjourned until Saturday March 3rd 1866

Pursuant to adjournment the St. Patrick’s Benevolent society held a special meeting at the usual place on Saturday March 3rd 1866.

The President in the chair, The meeting being called to order by the President the minutes of the preceding meeting were read and on motion adopted.

The following resolution was then offered and on Motion adopted, Resolved that any member consenting to take an active part in any debate and failing to attend and participate in the discussion without a good and sufficient excuse shall be fined by the president not less than twenty five cents nor more than One dollar.

The question previously selected was then discussed.
