The society then went into election of officers when on ballot the following gentlemen were elected for the ensuing six months.
On motion the meeting was adjourned until Sunday June 17th, at 12 M. F. W. Bowles, Secy Sept. 2, 1866 The Society met pursuant to adjournment it being the regular monthly meeting. Mr. President absent, Mr. Vice Presidnet in the chair. Mr. Secty. being absent on motion J. P. Glasmier was chosen secty. pro tem. Before any business of the society could be time acted, the books of the society were to be found, which was accordingly done, and brought before the society, the next thing in order being roll call and the collection of dues and fines the same was proceeded with and a quorum found present The following gentlemen were fined and paid the fine assessed by the chair. J. P. Glasmier for being absent one meeting without showing sufficient cause 25cts, John McBrearty fined 25cts same cause a chairman was chosen protem, for the purpose of investigating the case of our worthy V. P. after some little debating in regard to the duties of officers of the society and the example shown to the rest of the society by their absenting themselves without just cause our V. P. came off with a fine of 25cts after which he again resumed the chair. On looking over the books of the society, the resignation of the Secty. addressed to the president together with some money due the
