The President being absent the resignation could not be acted upon, the money however was paid over to the treasurer and his receipt taken for the same after which on motion the society adjourned to meet on Sunday the 7th day of October the same being the day for the regular monthly meeting. The minutes of the last meeting was read and on motion adopted, the roll of members being called the following gentlemen responded to their names Father Berry, J. F. McBrerty, Thomas Evers, J. P. Glasmier, John McBrerty, Patrick Galvin, William Galvin, Henry Golden, David Galvin, John Earley, Daniel Coffee, John Barrett, P. F. McCoole, John Dunnigan, Absent. ZP. McBrerty, Dennis Whelan, John T. McBrerty, James Glenn, Barney Early, H. Vanhueston, John Galvin, Micheal Glenn, Joseph E. Bowles, Chas Nooman, William Flanigan, after roll call the following gentlemen were fined as follows Daniel Coffee, absent two meetings without sufficient cause 50cts paid, William Galvin absent one meeting 25cts not paid, P. McCoole ab. one meeting 25cts paid, the committee appointed to investigate the books and acts of the society made the following report Franklin Co. Mo. Sept. 16th, 66 We have examined the different accounts kept by the Secretary, Treasurer, and Librarian of St. Patrick's Benevolent Society, which accounts we found to be kept correct up to the above date. Dennis Whelan, Henry Golden, William Galvin, after some little discussion in regard to procuring a book for the Librarian, on motion the meeting adjourned to meet on the first Sudy. in Nov. at 2 Oclock P.
